In WPS Spreadsheets sidebar for full-sheet, selection and selected-text translation across all worksheets. After translation, use Table display to switch between Translation, Bilingual and Original. You can also set the Translation font while preserving formulas and number formats as far as possible.

Download and install the WPS Spreadsheets translation add-in
The installer is shared with the Excel translation add-in、WPS translation add-in — one download covers them all.
- Completely close WPS Spreadsheets, WPS Writer, Excel and Word before installing
- Download and run the TopCopilot installer. It automatically matches 32/64-bit systems and usually requires no administrator privileges
- Open WPS Spreadsheets, click the AI Assistant tab in the ribbon, open the sidebar and sign in
- Choose full-sheet or selection translation, set the target language, and start translating
What you can do in WPS Spreadsheets
The same core tools as the Excel sidebar: whole-sheet WPS translation with layout preserved, selection translation and selected-text translation. Enable Translate All Worksheets to process all visible sheets. After translation, Spreadsheet Display switches betweenTranslation, Bilingual and Original; advanced settings let you choose a translation font while leaving formula columns unchanged where possible.
Translation font
Choose a translation font in advanced settings; by default, it follows the original. Specify a font when you need to standardize on Microsoft YaHei, SimSun, Arial, or another font.

The same installer supports whole-document, selection and selected-text translation in WPS Writer, with no separate Writer download.
Copying to a website vs the WPS Spreadsheets sidebar
Copying a whole WPS sheet into a translation website can turn formulas into text and disrupt column widths. The sidebar reads and writes cell by cell, modifying only text cells.

Frequently asked questions
Are the WPS Spreadsheets and Excel translation add-ins separate programs?
No. The same TopCopilot Windows installer adds an AI Assistant tab to both WPS Spreadsheets and Microsoft Excel. Both product pages provide the same installer.
How do I download and install the WPS Spreadsheets translation add-in?
Close WPS, then download and run the installer from this page or the official download page. Open WPS Spreadsheets 2023 or later, open the sidebar from the AI Assistant tab and sign in to translate whole sheets or selections.
How do I translate a rectangular selection in WPS Spreadsheets?
Select the cells you want to translate, such as a product-name column or a block of notes. Choose Selection Translation in the sidebar, set the target language and start. Cells outside the selection stay unchanged; leave formula columns outside the selection to exclude them.
Can I view the original and translation together afterward?
Yes. Table display in the sidebar offers Translation (translated text only), Bilingual (original above translation in the same cell), and Original (restore the pre-translation content). Switch at any time without translating again. Translations are not written into cell comments.
Can I choose the translation font?
Yes. Click the gear beside the target language and choose Translation font. The default is Automatic (follow original); you can also specify Microsoft YaHei, SimSun, Arial or another font to use when writing back translations.
Can translation damage formulas?
Whole-sheet translation tries to recognize and skip formula cells; selection translation lets you select only text columns. Check important formulas such as SUM and VLOOKUP afterward. Translation formulas such as TRANSLATE or GOOGLETRANSLATE can also be used in a separate column.
Can I use this add-in in WPS Writer too?
Yes. The same installation adds an AI Assistant sidebar to WPS Writer for whole-document, selection and selected-text translation. See the WPS translation add-in overview for details.
What if I do not have a Windows computer?
Use online Excel translation: upload an .xlsx file and download the translated workbook. Formula and numeric cells are skipped. It works in Mac and mobile browsers.
How do I translate Japanese or English into Chinese in WPS Spreadsheets, or Chinese into English?
Choose Whole-Sheet Translation and set the target to Simplified Chinese to translate Japanese and English cells together. Choose English to translate Chinese content into English. Mixed source languages can be handled in the same sheet.
