Frequently asked questions

What is a translated image? How does it differ from extracting and translating text?
A translated image is a newly generated image in the target language, preserving the original layout and background as closely as possible. It suits posters, packaging and labels. It does not extract copyable text with OCR or convert images to Excel. To create one, upload or paste an image on this page and download the result.
Can I use this tool to translate screenshots and photos?
Yes. For screenshots, take a screenshot and press Ctrl+V in the upload area. For photos, open this page in your phone browser and choose a photo of packaging, a menu or a sign from your gallery. Both produce a translated image rather than an editable spreadsheet.
Which image formats and sizes are supported?
PNG, JPG / JPEG and WebP are supported, up to 10MB per image and one image per upload. File types are detected from their actual contents; changing the extension does not work.
Can I paste a screenshot directly?
Yes. Press Ctrl+V in the upload area to paste a screenshot from your clipboard, without saving it as a file first.
How does image translation differ from image-to-Excel conversion?
Image translation produces a translated image for posters, packaging and infographics whose visual structure matters; Image to Excel recognizes tables and turns them into editable cell data.
What should I keep in mind when generating a translated image?
After submitting, wait for the progress bar to finish before downloading. Do not submit the same task again.
Can I use it on a Mac or phone?
Yes. This is a browser tool, so you can sign in on a Mac, iPad or phone without installing an add-in.
Are my images saved? How are credits charged?
Uploaded images are used only for the current translation task, and temporary files are cleared afterward. Image translation uses approximately 450 credits per image. Your balance is checked before upload.
