Sentence components in the familiar Chinese grammar system

Components are labeled using the subject, predicate, object, attributive, adverbial, complement and predicative system commonly used in Chinese English classrooms. No conversion to unfamiliar English grammar terminology is required.

Complete clause recognition

Identify subject/object/predicative/appositive clauses, attributive clauses and 9 types of adverbial clauses. Modifying structures such as participle phrases and infinitive phrases will also be classified and displayed.

Sentence pattern, tense and voice at a glance

Automatically summarize sentence type (simple/compound/complex/compound-complex), tense and voice; passive sentences also identify retained objects.

Three-level sentence analysis

Long and difficult sentences are unfolded layer by layer according to the three levels of "main → modification → clause". First grasp the skeleton and then look at the details, which is in line with the learning habit of deconstructing long and difficult sentences.

Frequently asked questions

Is there any online analysis tool for long and difficult English sentences and long English sentences?
Yes. Open the “English Grammar Analysis” web tool, paste one English sentence and label its sentence components, clauses, tense and voice. Each input can be up to 600 characters. The Word add-in analyzes selected sentences automatically, and the browser extension works with long sentences on web pages. Free for a limited time, with no translation credits required.
Is English grammar analysis free?
Free for a limited time. Grammar analysis does not call an LLM; it runs on a separately deployed dependency grammar engine. During launch, both the Windows add-in and the web tool are free and do not consume translation credits. Any future pricing will be announced in the changelog in advance.
Does it support analyzing Chinese sentences?
Currently only English sentence analysis is supported. When entering a paragraph of English with multiple sentences, the longest sentence will be automatically selected for analysis. It is recommended to paste one sentence at a time.
How many characters can I enter at once?
A single input should not exceed 600 characters, covering most long and difficult sentences for the postgraduate entrance examination and IELTS. If it is too long, please split it and then analyze it.
What sentence components can be marked?
Subject, predicate, object, indirect object, predicative, object complement, retained object, attributive, adverbial and appositive, plus subject/object/predicative/appositive clauses, relative clauses, nine types of adverbial clause, participial phrases and infinitive phrases.
What is the difference between throwing sentences to AI chat and asking about grammar?
AI chat output varies in format and detail, and does not visualize sentence structure. TopCopilot grammar analysis uses a fixed structured layout: color-coded component blocks, clause types, and sentence-pattern, tense and voice summaries. Results are stable and reproducible for repeated close reading.
How do I use grammar analysis in Word?
After installing the TopCopilot Windows add-in, select AI Assistant → Grammar Analysis in Word/WPS to open the panel. Select an English sentence and it is inserted and analyzed automatically.
Can I use it on a Mac or phone?
Yes. Open the Grammar Analysis tab in the web tool directly in your browser. Mac, iPad and mobile users can sign in by scanning a QR code; no add-in installation is required.
Are the analysis results necessarily accurate?
The accuracy of regular sentences and typical long and difficult sentences is relatively high, but structural ambiguities such as prepositional phrase mounting may be misjudged in individual very long sentences. It is recommended to use the results as a reference for sentence splitting and understand it in context.
